    Explanation:
    In 2010, the Foundation organized a fundraising event, called the Gridiron Grill-OFF, in which celebrity athletes paired with celebrity Broward chefs in a grilling competition held at a local shopping center. The teams competed by preparing their own special grilling recipes before attendees who tried the items prepared and voted for their favorite grilling team. Attendees were also served food from local restaurants owned by Mr. Offerdahl (a director of the Foundation, and a former professional football player) and other former NFL players. Other local restaurants provided desserts for attendees at the event. In addition, attendees were invited to participate in the "BIG GIG Cornhole Classic," a tailgating game that paired attendee participants with celebrities to compete for the "Cornhole Cup." The event also included a silent auction. The Gridiron Griller, LLC, a limited liability company owned by Mr. and Mrs. Offerdahl, allowed the Foundation to promote the event on its website, and Mr. Offerdahl allowed the Foundation to use his name to promote the event. An unrelated ticketing company was used to sell tickets to the event. Tickets were sold for $56 each, with the ticketing company retaining a $6 commission for each ticket sold. (The total commission paid to the ticketing company amounted to $1,764 (294 sold tickets times $6).) No charitable contribution receipts were issued to purchasers of the tickets, since the value of what they received in exchange for their payment approximated the ticket cost. The net revenue after the ticketing company's commission of $6 per ticket amounted to $20,380, which was donated by the Foundation to the Christian Community Foundation of South Florida ("CCFSF"). CCFSF placed the funds in the Hand-OFF Fund, a donor-advised fund of which Mr. Offerdahl is an advisor. Grants totaling $20,464 were subsequently made by CCFSF from the Hand-OFF Fund to 501(c)(3) charities which serve the needs of South Florida's hungry. Most of the event costs were donated by local businesses, but those items for which in-kind donations could not be obtained were paid for by the Foundation. These costs amounted to approximately $60,000. Publix Supermarkets has agreed to donate $10,000 toward the cost of the event. The Foundation expects to receive this donation from Publix Supermarkets in the near future.
