| Part VI, Line 15, page 6 - Describe the process for determining compensation of the Director and other employees. The Greenwood Senior Citizens Center (GSCC) does not use an independent third party to determine the compensation of the Director or any other employee. The salary of the Director is determined by the Board after due deliberation. To some extent, the Board uses the salaries of other executives of local not-for-profits, such as the Johnson County Senior Services and the local community foundation. However, there is no written analysis or other study that is performed for this purpose. In In addition, the Director's salary has stayed the same ($35,000) for the last seven years. By any reasonable yardstick, this amount cannot be said to be excessive. Finally, the Director does not receive any any benefits, such as retirement or health insurance. As regards the compensation level of other employees, there is only one other employee, a part-time bookkeeper, who is paid $11 an hour. This hourly rate was decided on by the Board, and is well within the local rate for bookkeepers. Again, there are no benefits, such as retirement or health insurance provided to the person filling this position. Part VI, Section C (Disclosure), line 19. How does the organization make its governing documents and financial stateemnts available to the public? GSCC has its corporate documents, past tax returns, board minutes, and financial statements on hand at the center's office. These items are are available to be reviewed by anyone upon giving the center reasonable notice. |
