Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, the MLBPAA's membership has soared to over 5,000 members and continues to climb. Membership includes approximately 2,700 former major league players and 870 current players. The remainder of membership is comprised of minor league players, umpires, managers, coaches, front office personnel, media and fans.

The organization sends ballots out to members either by e-mail or US Postal Service for the election of the governing body. An outside firm is hired to tabulate and report the results of the election.

The Form 990 is prepared by an independant CPA firm and reviewed internally by the Organization's Chief Executive Officer and all members of its governing body before it is filed. A filed copy of the Form 990 is provided to each Board member.
