What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? TO PROVIDE THE COMMUNITY WITH A BUILDING FOR THE PURPOSES OF MEETING, GATHERING AND FOSTERING SUPPORT FOR VETERANS.
Describe what was achieved in carrying out the organization's exempt purposes. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Post Accomplishments for 2010:Donated the use of the annex facility every three months to allow the blood bank to get donations.Donated the use of the annex facility every three months for the mobile unit from the Veterans Administration clinic in Redding.Donated the use of the Post facilities 4 time a year for the food giveaway program to benefit seniors and low income familiesMade a monetary donation of $200 to the Amy Bourke Fund to assist with medical bills incurred due to an emergency liver transplant.Donated $200 to the North Valley Stand Down Association for the benefit of homeless veterans and other veterans in need.Donated $150 to the McCloud Recreation Council for youth sports.Donated $100 to the Siskiyou Motorcycle Association for their "Toys for Tots" program for underprivileged families at Christmas. Conducted a two-day community breakfast for the McCloud Fiesta Days at the end of July to benefit youth sports.Conducted a one day community breakfast in August for the McCloud Heritage Days celebration.Assisted and volunteered members to set-up and coordinate the McCloud High School reunion held in August. The Post also donated $200 to the reunion committee to help offset costs.The American Legion Post facility is registered with Siskiyou County as a shelter in case of emergencies.The Post assisted with the annual Armed Forces Appreciation Day Appreciation celebration at the Siskiyou County fairgrounds in May.The Post has assisted the American Legion Auxiliary in various fund raising activities to benefit disabled veterans.Donated food baskets with turkeys at Thanksgiving for needy families in the community.
