Form 990, Part VI, Line 15b: Compensation Review and Approval Process for Officers and Key Employees
The President and Secretary/Treasurer donate their services in their capacities as officers; therefore, no W-2 form is required. However, they each provide professional services to the Foundation aside from their work as officers; payments for these services are pursuant to contracts with the Foundation as approved by its board of directors (with the applicable party recusing himself/herself from the approval process). The compensation shown in Part VII Section A relates to these professional services on a calendar year basis and in Part IX on a fiscal year basis.1. The President, Michael Allen Harrison, contracts with the Foundation to provide artistic creations and direction for the Foundation's major fund-raising event, a ten grand piano concert.2. The Secretary-Treasurer, Kathleen Bernards, CPA, is compensated for accounting services provided by the employees of her CPA firm.Since both of these officers operate self-employed businesses to conduct their professional services, their businesses receive a form 1099-MISC for the compensation.
