	Our purpose is to educate recyclers on the proper procedures for mercury removal and provide a means for the collection and recycling of automotive mercury switches; Our achievement is that the number of participant recyclers continues to grow and the amount of switches is steadily increasing. In 2010, we collected 630,906 automotive switches containing mercury for environmentally-friendly recycling, bringing the cumulative total to almost 3.5 million switches. We had the ongoing participation of 49 states. We increased the number of program participants (recyclers) to 9,227. Educational materials providing training in environmentally-friendly disposal were provided to all participants. More than one half ton of mercury was collected from switches in 2010, bringing our cumulative program total to 3.8 tons.
