FIN 48	Form 990, Part IV, 11f	International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 226 Building Corporation, Inc. is exempt from income taxes under Section 501(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. The Corporation is subject to tax on unrelated business income arising from taxable activities. In June 2006, the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) issued an Interpretation, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes (FASB ASC 740-10). Implementation of this standard was deferred until 2009. The Building Corporation has adopted this standard effective January 1, 2009. There was no material impact on the Building Corporation's financial statements as a result of the adoption of this standard during the fiscal year. There has been no interest or penalties recognized neither in the statement of revenue collected, expenses paid, and changes in net assets - modified cash basis nor in the statement of assets, liabilities, and net assets - modified cash basis related to uncertain tax positions. In addition, no tax positions exist for which it is reasonably possible that the total amounts of unrecognized tax benefits will significantly increase or decrease within the next twelve months. Tax years with open statutes of limitations are 2007 and forward.
