OUR CAUSE CONTINUED: WE BELIEVE THAT LASTING PERSONAL AND SOCIAL CHANGE CAN ONLY COME ABOUT WHEN WE ALL WORK TOGETHER TO INVEST IN OUR KIDS, OUR HEALTH AND OUR NEIGHBORS. THAT'S WHY, AT THE Y, STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY IS OUR CAUSE. EVERY DAY, WE WORK SIDE-BY-SIDE WITH OUR NEIGHBORS IN OUR COMMUNITY TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF AGE, INCOME OR BACKGROUND, HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN, GROW AND THRIVE. THERE IS NO OTHER NONPROFIT QUITE LIKE THE Y. THAT'S BECAUSE THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITY WE HAVE THE PRESENCE AND PARTNERSHIPS TO NOT JUST PROMISE, BUT TO DELIVER, LASTING PERSONAL AND SOCIAL CHANGE. -THE Y IS COMMUNITY CENTERED. FOR NEARLY 130 YEARS, OUR Y HAS BEEN LISTENING AND RESPONDING TO OUR COMMUNITY. -THE Y BRINGS PEOPLE TOGETHER. WE CONNECT PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS TO BRIDGE THE GAPS IN COMMUNITY NEEDS. -THE Y NURTURES POTENTIAL. WE BELIEVE THAT EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN, GROW AND THRIVE. OUR Y IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE, DEDICATED TO BUILDING HEALTHY, CONFIDENT, CONNECTED AND SECURE CHILDREN, ADULTS, FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES. EVERY DAY, OUR IMPACT IS FELT WHEN AN INDIVIDUAL MAKES A HEALTHY CHOICE, WHEN A MENTOR INSPIRES A CHILD AND WHEN A COMMUNITY COMES TOGETHER FOR A COMMON GOOD. THROUGH THE LIFE CHANGING AND COMMUNITY CHANGING INITIATIVES THAT OUR YMCA LAUNCHED AND EXPANDED IN 2010, INCLUDING PIONEERING HEALTHIER COMMUNITIES, HEALTHY LIFESTYLES, LIVESTRONG AT THE YMCA AND A DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM, OUR YMCA HAS BECOME A MORE RELEVANT AND EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATION THAN AT ANY OTHER TIME IN OUR HISTORY. THESE INITIATIVES ALLOWED US TO EXPAND AND STRENGTHEN OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LA CROSSE SCHOOL DISTRICT, GUNDERSEN LUTHERAN HEALTHCARE AND FRANCISCAN SKEMP HEALTHCARE DESIGNED TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH AND WELL BEING OF PEOPLE IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE'RE PROUD OF THE EXPANDED ROLE AND GREATER IMPACT THE YMCA IS PLAYING IN IMPROVING THE HEALTH OF OUR COMMUNITY.
