What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Promote, improve and enhance the development of renewable bio fuels in New Mexico and the Southwest. Provide the opportunity for exchange of ideas and opinions, and for study and discussion, of various business and technical aspects of the bio fuel industry in NM and the Southwest; to promote the bio fuels industry in NM and the SW; to develop and encourage high standards for bio fuel products and for Members serving the industry and the public; and to acquire, preserve and disseminate data and information to Members and the public relating to the bio fuels industry.
Describe what was achieved in carrying out the organization's exempt purposes. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Southwestern Biofuels Association has promoted renewable biofuels in New Mexico and the Southwest through annual biofuels conferences, technical scientific meetings, developing a New Mexico State Plan for Biofuels Leadership and promoting strategic industry partnerships in the region. It has benefited over five hundred people and one hundred businesses and organizations through education and professional development in biofuels research, biofuels policy development, industry outreach, email newsletters, public outreach and media interviews. Programs include the annual SWBA Policy Summit, an Algal Research Technical Forum and sponsorship and presentations at several regional biofuels conferences.
