		Rental expenses are matched with rental income for tax return reporting. The Local is exempt from federal income taxes under Section 501(c)(5) of the Internal Revenue Code and therefore has made no provision for federal income taxes in the accompanying financial statements. In addition, the Local has been determined by the Internal Revenue Service not to be a private foundation within the meaning of Section 509(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. There was no unrelated business income for the years ended June 30, 2011 and 2010. The Local has adopted Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 740, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes, which prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement attribute for financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return and also provides guidance on various related matters such as derecognition, interest, penalties and disclosures required. The determination of the Local as a tax-exempt not-for-profit entity is considered a tax position subject to the requirements of ASC 740. There were no unrecognized tax benefits at June 30, 2011, and the Local does not believe it is reasonably possible that unrecognized tax benefits related to this tax position will significantly increase or decrease within twelve months of the reporting date. The Local recognizes interest and penalties, if any, related to unrecognized tax benefits in income tax expense. The Local did not have any accrued liabilities or expense for interest or penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits for the years ended June 30, 2011 and 2010. The Local has tax returns that remain open to examination by the taxing authorities. These include federal and state tax returns for 2008 through 2010.
