Briefly describe the organization’s mission: To represent to the people of MN the importance of public transportation, the need to continually improve the system, and the need to use the public transit systems. To study, analyze, investigate, and make recommendations to achieve these goals. To promote a medium of exchange for ideas, research, and problem-solving among members.

	MPTA hosted the annual Minnesota Public Transit Conference in Rochester, MN This event provided an open exchange of ideas and information among transit providers across Minnesota. Breakout sessions and seminars gave attendees access to ideas and techniques to improve their operations. Typical attendees were employees and managers of public transit systems in Minnesota. The event helps these systems better manage the public benefit of the transit they provide.

	MPTA advocated for the cause of transportation. The organization worked with transit systems to communicate with transit riders and worked with local media to publicize the benefits of public transit. Ongoing outreach and advocacy efforts keep the cause of public transportation relevant and important to policy makers and transit riders in Minnesota. Just as transit benefits the public, so does this MPTA activity.
