What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The purpose of this Association is to support the educational purposes of its member colleges by promoting and advancing the interests of higher education in Kansas, including both independent and state-controlled colleges and universities. The Association will have special concern for the diversity of educational opportunity, the quality of higher education, and the freedom and responsibility of colleges and universities in Kansas to serve the educational and cultural needs of Kansas and elsewhere. The Association will assist and cooperate with state controlled institutions and agencies which perform educational tasks to accomplish the educational needs of Kansas. The Association will represent, protect and promote the general welfare of its members and support education and the encouragement of undergraduate and advanced education programs and develop plans for the funding for private higher education.
