What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? The primary purposes of the Colorado Chapter of the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, Inc.(NAHRO) is to be the leading housing and community development advocate for the provision of adequate and affordable housing and strong, viable communities for all Americans, particularly those of low to moderate incomes, and to enhance the professional development and effectiveness of NAHRO's members.

28 In 2010, Colorado NAHRO continued to fulfill its mission to provide professional development, advocacy, and networking opportunities for public housing and community development agencies as well as other individuals and organizations working to enhance the affordable housing industry and promote viable communities in Colorado. Colorado NAHRO produced its annual conference May 10-14 in Pueblo, Colorado that provided essential and network opportunities for over 300 affordable housing maintenance and management professionals. Colorado NAHRO also sponsored four trainings at its training center in Lakewood, CO. These included: Property Management Essentials (Feb. 8-10); Capital Fund (June 14-15); Family self-Sufficiency (August 16-17); and HCV Occupancy (Sept 22-24). Colorado NAHRO also opened an additional training center in conjuction with the Colorado Springs Housing Authority and conducted one training-Public Housing manager (Nov. 15-19). Additionally, Colorado NAHRO maintains a website that provides its members with information on advocacy issues, current events, training opportunities and other relevant resources.
