THE 501(C)(6) ORGANIZATION RECIEVES MONEY INTENDED FOR AFPD FOUNDATION, CHARGES ACTUAL AND ESTIMATED COSTS FOR SHARED EXPENSES INCLUDING OFFICE EXPENSES AND STAFF CHARGES, AND AS A RESULT OF THESE TRANSACTIONS THERE IS AN AMOUNT DUE TO THE 501(C)(6) ENTITY FROM AFPD FOUNDATION INC AS OF YEAR-END. THE AMOUNTS INVOLVED ARE DETERMINED WITH AN ARM'S-LENGTH APPROACH AND THE COMMON MEMBERS OF THE BOARDS OF DIRECTORS ARE AWARE OF ALL TRANSACTIONS BETWEEN THE TWO ORGANIZATIONS. ALSO, DURING 2010 THE AFPD FOUNDATION, INC. MADE A CONTRIBUTION TO ASSOCIATED FOOD & PETROLEUM DEALERS, INC. WHICH WAS THEN COMBINED WITH OTHER DONORS TO ULTIMATELY GRANT THE STATE OF MICHIGAN FUNDS TO HELP OFFSET COSTS INCURRED BY THE STATE TO INFORM THE PUBLIC OF CHANGES TO THE FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM.
