What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE PURPOSE OF THE GREATER SPRINGFIELD AREA SPORTS COMMISSION IS TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND TO STIMULATE POSITIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH FOR OUR COMMUNITY BY PROMOTING AND DEVELOPING THE GREATER SPRINGFIELD AREA AS A SPORTS VENUE FOR QUALITY AMATEUR, COLLEGIATE, AND PROFESSIONAL SPORTING EVENTS.

28 THE ORGANIZATION ENHANCED COMMUNITY LIFE BY SUPPORTING THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: - NATIONAL CHRISTIAN HOMESCHOOL BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS: 350 BASKETBALL TEAMS FROM ACROSS THE COUNTRY ATTENDED THE 6 DAY TOURNAMENT - GREATER SPRINGFIELD AREA SPORTS COMMISSION CHAMPIONS CHALLENGE: 26 SOCCER TEAMS FROM REGION ATTENDED THE WEEKEND TOURNAMENT - PGA NATIONWIDE TOUR PRICE CUTTER CHARITY CHAMPIONSHIP: THE UP & COMING STARS OF THE PGA TOUR.
