Grantmaker's Description of How Grants are Used   Brunswick Family Assistance and the Columbus County Department of Aging are government agenices. Any "monitoring" of the use of the proceeds could be viewed as an inappropriate invasion of the ultimate recipients' privacy; therefore, Brunswick EMC does not investigate the use of these funds (the identity of the ultimate receipients) once the funds are given to the government agencies. The NRECA International Foundation is a well-known charitable organization that is independently audited. No further monitoring by Brunswick EMC is appropriate. The Columbus County Agricultural Fair uses the grant funds to promote agriculture for the citizens of Columbus County. The expenditure of funds is monitored by the organization, and verbal reports are given to Brunswick EMC board members at the fair planning meetings.
