What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE TULSA FOUNDATION FOR ARCHITECTURE'S MISSION IS TO BE A RESOURCE THAT RECOGNIZES, RECORDS AND ENCOURAGES PRESERVATION OF THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT AND ADVOCATES QUALITY FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS THAT FURTHER ENHANCES TULSA'S LIVABILITY. THE FOUNDATION'S OBJECTIVES ARE TO BE A CREDIBLE VOICE THAT IDENTIFIES VALUABLE ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURES, SPACES, SITES AND WORKS OF MERIT; EDUCATES THE PUBLIC ABOUT ARCHITECTURE AND THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT; PROMOTES AND ENCOURAGES PRESERVATION AND/OR REHABILITATION OF SIGNIFICANT STRUCTURES; BE A REPOSITORY FOR HISTORICAL ARCHITECTURAL DRAWINGS AND MATERIALS.

TRIANGLE COMPANY HAS AGREED TO SCAN OUR DOCUMENTS TO HELP PRESERVE THEIR CONTINUED INTEGRITY AND AVAILABILITY TO THE PUBLIC IN A DIGITAL FORMAT (ON CD). WE ARE THE ONLY ENTITY IN TULSA THAT COLLECTS, CATALOGUES AND PRESERVES THESE HISTORICAL DOCUMENTS. THE 5TH ANNUAL WHITE GLOVE OPEN HOUSE WAS HELD ON JANUARY 27, 2010, AT THE TFA ARCHIVES LOCATED AT 321 SOUTH BOSTON, LOWER LEVEL. THE FREE EVENT WAS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. IN DECEMBER OF 2010, GEROGE R. KRAVIS AGAIN AWARDED THE TFA ARCHIVES $5,000 IN THE NAME OF ROBERT E. BUCHNER FOR CONTINUING PRESERVATION WORK ON THE EXISTING MAJOR COLLECTIONS INCLUDING BUCHNER COLLECTION, McCORMICK COLLECTION, KOBERLING COLLECTION, FORSYTH COLLECTION, MURRAY JONES MURRAY COLLECTION, CHARLES STEVENS DUBECK COLLECTION AND THE RECENT ACQUISITION OF THE COLLECTION OF JOHN BROOKS WALTON.

THE ANNUAL EVENT PROMOTES THE CONCEPT OF DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION BY ENCOURAGING RESIDENCE WITHIN THE INNER DISPOSAL LOOP ABD THEREBY, ENTICING BUSINESS OWNERS TO OPEN SUPPORT SERVICES SUCH AS GROCERY STORES, DRUG STORES AND OTHERS WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THESE LIVING SPACES. A PRESERVATION SERVICES FUND GRANT (RUTH AND ALLEN MAYO FUND FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION IN OKLAHOMA) AWARDED TO THE TULSA FOUNDATION FOR ARCHITECTURE BY THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION SOUTHWEST REGIONAL OFFICE IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,500 TO CONDUCT A COMPREHENSIVE SURVEY OF THE NEON SIGNS IN TULSA IN 2009, RESULTED IN THE THE DEVELOPMENT OF A FULL-COLOR BROCHURE ENTITLED VINTAGE TULSA NEON SIGNS.
