ARE TO 1) PROVIDE PROFESSIONAL COUNSELING TO FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS NEEDING GUIDANCE IN THE MANAGEMENT OF THEIR PERSONAL FINANCES, IN BUDGETING, AND IN THE WISE USE OF CREDIT AND IN APPROPRIATE CASES, TO ARRANGE FOR ORDERLY DEBT LIQUIDATION; AND 2) EDUCATE THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE WISE AND PROPER USE OF CONSUMER CREDIT AND TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES TO AID IN THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE FOREGOING ACTIVITIES.

ALL GREENPATH COUNSELORS ARE REQUIRED TO OBTAIN AND RETAIN CERTIFICATION THROUGH THE NATIONAL FOUNDATION FOR CREDIT COUNSELING (NFCC).GREENPATH COUNSELORS ANALYZE CLIENTS' FINANCIAL SITUATIONS, INCLUDING INCOME, FIXED AND VARIABLE EXPENSES, TOTAL SECURED AND UNSECURED INDEBTEDNESS AND ANY CURRENT DELINQUENCIES. THEY REVIEW THE FACTORS THAT LED THE CLIENT TO SEEK ASSISTANCE, DISCUSS HIS/HER FINANCIAL GOALS, AND DEVELOP AN ACTION PLAN TO MEET THOSE GOALS. INITIAL COUNSELING SESSIONS TYPICALLY LAST 60-90 MINUTES AND ARE FREE OF CHARGE. IN ADDITION, GREENPATH COUNSELORS AND COMMUNITY EDUCATORS CONDUCTED 661 WORKSHOPS/EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS IN 2010 FOR GROUPS AFFILIATED WITH CHURCHES, SOCIAL SERVICE AGENCIES, HIGH SCHOOLS, COLLEGES, EMPLOYERS UNION LOCALS AND EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS. TOTAL ATTENDANCE AT THESE SESSIONS WAS 10,650. GREENPATH PARTNERS WITH 214 CREDIT UNIONS NATIONWIDE THROUGH OUR ACCEL AND GREENPATH REFERRAL MEMBERS SERVICES PROGRAM. THESE PROGRAMS PROVIDE ONE-ON-ONE FINANCIAL COUNSELING AND EDUCATION AND GROUP WORKSHOPS ON TOPICS SUCH AS THE AMERICAN DREAM (HOME OWNERSHIP), IDENTITY THEFT, KIDS AND MONEY, UNDERSTANDING YOUR CREDIT REPORT, SURVIVING A LAYOFF, SAVING TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS, COLLEGE BOUND AND STEPS TO FINANCIAL FREEDOM TO 4.3 MILLION CREDIT UNION MEMBERS. GREENPATH IS AUTHORIZED TO PROVIDE BOTH THE STATUTORILY REQUIRED PRE-FILING COUNSELING AND PRE-DISCHARGE EDUCATION COURSE TO BANKRUPTCY CANDIDATES. THE PRE-FILING COUNSELING HELPS CLIENTS DEVELOP A WORKABLE BUDGET AND ACTION PLANS TO AVOID CIRCUMSTANCES THAT MIGHT LEAD TO ANOTHER BANKRUPTCY FILING.
