Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The Northern Virginia Soccer League sponsors, promotes, organizes, advertises and conducts amateur soccer games and events in the Northern Virginia Area. The League is affiliated with the Metropolitan DC-Virginia Soccer Association and through it with the United States Soccer Federation, Inc. (USSF). The League is a member of the U.S. Adult Soccer Association (USASA). Although not a direct member of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the League follows FIFA laws of the game.

Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a	Form 990, Part VI, Line 7a: How Members or Shareholders Elect Governing Body	The League is governed through a League Council and an Executive Board. Each team has at least two members on the League Council. The League Executive Board is composed of the League officers, who are elected at the Annual General Meeting of the League Council. General Meetings of the League Council are held in March (Spring meeting) and August (Fall meeting).
Form 990, Part VI, Line 6	Form 990, Part VI, Line 6: Explanation of Classes of Members or Shareholder	Players, clubs, club officers, and League officer are considered members of the League. Any amateur team properly constituted and playing under the Operating Rules as promulgated by the United States Soccer Federation, Inc. (USSF) may apply to become a member of the League and shall become a member of the League upon acceptance by a majority of those present and eligible to vote at a meeting of the League Council.
