	The coop provided electricity to several bush Alaska villages. It is the only electric provider for the area. The service allows the people living in these villages to have reliable electricity. The utility maintains itself by hiring local villagers and providing training and education which helps boost the local economy with good paying jobs. Without the coop the villages would either have unreliable electricity or none at all.
