	Organization Mission Statement: Ira J. Jacobson American Legion Post 474, post Home is a not for profit organization for the betterment of all veterans who have served our country through military service. The members of Ira J. Jacobson American Legion Post, their wives (Auxiliary) and their sons (SAL) continue to serve veterans and the community. Post 474 members from WW II to present day serve luncheons and entertain Disabled Veterans several times a year. Trips are made to hospitals and fund raisers are planned to assist those who have served our country. Ira J. Jacobson, the only American Legion Post Home in the City of Rochester, continues community service year round. We are the home office for American Legion Post 474, Genesee Valley Marine Corps League, Korean War Veterans Assoc. Chapter 58, VFW and other veterans groups. Over 14 community groups meet at this location including polling place and Democrat and Republican committees from the Rochester area. Charlotte High School uses this facility several times a year as an "off site" training area.

Jacobson American Legion Post 474, Post Home is a not for profit organization for the betterment of all veterans who have served our country through military service. The members of Ira J. Jacobson American Legion Post, their wives (Auxiliary) and their sons (SAL) continue to serve veterans and the community. Post 474 members from WW II to present day serve luncheons and entertain Disabled Veterans several times a year. Trips are made to hospitals and fund raisers are planned to assist those who have served our country. Ira J. Jacobson, the only American Legion Post Home in the City of Rochester, continues community service year round. We are the home office for American Legion Post 474, Genesee Valley Marine Corps League, Korean War Veterans Assoc. Chapter 58, VFW and other veterans groups from the Rochester area. Over 14 community groups meet at this location including polling place for the district, Democrat and Republican committees from the Rochester area, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Charlotte Community organizations. Charlotte High School uses this facility several times a year as an "off site" training area. The Post Home maintains a bar business to provide income for the upkeep of the facility.
