THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CIVIC & COMMERCIAL BETTERMENT OF THE COMMUNITY BY THE ENLARGEMENT & PROMOTION OF BUSINESS INTERESTS, FURNISHING OPPORTUNITY OF ACQUAINTANCE AMONG CITIZENS FOR FREE INTERCHANGE OF VIEWS AND TO SECURE CONCERTED ACTION IN ALL MATTERS OF PUBLIC EVENTS.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 TOURISM. A VISITOR CENTER BOOTH OPERATES ALL SUMMER AND HOLIDAYS DISTRIBUTING INFORMATION & DIRECTING VISITORS (SERVES APPROX. 500 PEOPLE). MAIN CHAMBER OFFICE DISSEMINATES BROCHURES, MAPS, INFORMATION ON AREA PARKS AND VARIOUS INFORMATION TO VISITORS YEAR-ROUND (SERVES APPROX. 15,000 PEOPLE). TOURISM ACTIVITIES PROMOTE OUR COMMUNITY AS WELL AS MEMBER BUSINESSES.THE CHAMBER SERVES AS A UNITED PARCEL SERVICE PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF CENTER. THIS ACTIVITY AIDS IN THE CIVIC & COMMERCIAL BETTERMENT OF THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING A CENTRAL LOCATION FOR THIS SERVICE AND BY BRINGING CUSTOMERS TO THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS DISTRICT (SERVES APPROX. 400 PEOPLE).EACH YEAR THE CHAMBER HOSTS AN ANNUAL DINNER.
