What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Educational and professional support for foreign language teachers in the State of Georgia.
Describe what was achieved in carrying out the organization's exempt purposes. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 Unknown/Unclassified: Foreign Language Association of Georgia serves the foreign language professionals of Georgia (USA). Four hundred and twenty Georgia foreign language teachers attended the largest FLAG conference in history held in Atlanta, GA in March. At this conference they had the benefit of continuing education credit from teachers and professors in Ga and surrounding states. The were afforded courses in which they could gain Staff Development Credit toward Georgia teacher recertification. 285 of these attended 1/2 day workshops on Friday which also provided them with hours toward recertification. All our participants attended classes on Friday and Saturday, open to all attendees, where seminars, hands on displays and teaching ideas were exchanged and shared. We promote the furtherance of Foreign Language Education in Georgia and afford our teachers with a place (conference) and forum to share their ideas and concerns and to further their education in their chosen field. Registration was paid directly FLAG and this paid for give-aways, hotel expenses, av equip for presenters and bags for all attendees.
