Briefly describe the organization’s mission: Interaction Design Association (IxDA) believes that the human condition is increasingly challenged by poor experiences. IxDA intends to improve the human condition by advancing the discipline of Interaction Design. To do this, we foster a community of of people that choose to come together to support this intention. IxDA relies on individual initiative, contribution, sharing and self-organization as the primary means for us to achieve our goals.IxDA relies on its passionate subscribers and volunteers to help serve the needs of the international Interaction Design community. With more than 15,000 subscribers and over 80 local groups around the world, the IxDA network actively focuses on interaction design issues for the practitioner, no matter their level of experience. We focus on the following core/initiatives:Education and MentoringLocal GroupsInteraction ConferencePublic RelationsOutreach to BusinessInternationalization

	Interaction Design Association (IxDA) launched its fourth annual interactions conference, held in Boulder, Colorado. The conference attracted 619 attendees from all over the world.Planning stages for the 2012 conference, to be held in Dublin, Ireland, are well under way. Attendance in excess of 700 is anticipated.IxDA has launched its first Interaction Awards program, opening for entries in July 2011. The judging process took place in November, and winning entries are scheduled to be awarded at the 2012 conference.IxDA's mailing list has grown to over 20,000 subscribers and its Linkedin groups have surpassed the 35,000 members mark.
