What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? To recommend to the fire equipment industry such trade policies and practices as will stabilize the industry and protect the public interest. And to eliminate such practices which cause injury to the industry and to the public interest. To gather and disseminate information and ideas which will improve the State's fire protection and increase the competence of the fire equipment industry. Each member of this Association acknowledges the responsibility interest in the sale and maintenance of fire protection equipment distributed by it and pledges to perform its work and service its customers with the high degree of honesty, skill and integrity that such responsibility infers. To cooperate with governmental agencies, organizations and officials, as well as insurance organizations, in the furtherance of the objectives of GAFSED and the public.To further the joint interest of and to build good will between distributors, dealers and manufacturers of the fire equipment industry.To gather inf

28 GAFSED had another successful year in 2011. We continued to grow our membership to 115 members. Our accomplishments included:- Holding six State approved training classes with 458 total attendees of which 425 were members of GAFSED and 23 non-members, totaling 3664 hours of training to our membership and Georgia permitted technicians.- Sponsored 4 hours AHJ (Authorities Holding Jurisdiction, e.g. Fire Marshalls) training for the Georgia Fire Inspectors Assn. with 80 AHJ's in attendance.- Promoted GAFSED at the April Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs convention in Savannah.- GAFSED donated to the Georgia Fire Fighters Burn Foundation Rodeo to help our hero's that were burned in the line of duty, their families and children.- Supported the Georgia Fire Safety Symposium committee.- Supported/sponsored a team in the GFIA (Georgia Fire Inspectors Association)golf tournament in July.- Supported/Sponsored the Georgia Fire Symposium annual chicken/fish fry at the Ramada Inn Forsyth.- Held the 1st. Annual Randy Carlisle Memorial Golf Tournament in memory of our past GAFSED president and friend. Over $3000.00 was raised and donated to the Georgia Burn Foundation.- Finished out the year with our annual conference at Stone Mountain Park featuring a 4 hour presentation from the U.S. D.O.T., networking, and trade show with 125 in attendance.
