Description of Uncertain Tax Positions Under FIN 48:	Part X:	The Association is liable for federal income tax and California Franchise tax on its income from unrelated business activities, primarily fees for managing certain pension and welfare benefit trusts. The Association adopted the provisions of Accounting Standard Codification 740-10, Accounting for Uncertainty in Income Taxes, an interpretation of Accounting Standard Codification 740-10-50, Accounting for Income Taxes, on April 1, 2007. Accounting Standard Codification 740-10 clarifies the accounting for uncertainty in income taxes recognized in an enterprise's financial statements in accordance with Accounting Standard Codification 740-10-50 and prescribes a recognition threshold and measurement process for financial statement recognition and measurement of a tax position taken or expected to be taken in a tax return. Accounting Standard Codification 740-10 also provides guidance on de-recognition, classification, interest and penalties, accounting in interim periods, disclosure and transition. At the adoption date and as of September 30, 2010, the Association had no material unrecognized tax benefits and no adjustments to liabilities or operations were required.
