General explanation attachment   Attached is the initial filing for the Kansas Family Policy Council Action The taxpayer recognizes that this return is late but requests that any penalties be waived due to extenuating circumstances During the first few years of the organization there was significant turnover of key volunteers that were charged with performing certain tasks One of those tasks was to see that the annual Form 990 was filed The financial records were transferred from one location to another and in transit some records were lost Those records have been recreated and the books and records of the entity have now been brought up to date The current Board of Directors held the understanding that all required forms had been filed When the Board of Directors discovered that the Form 990 was not filed professional assistance was immediately secured to bring the Kansas Family Policy Council Action into compliance The Kansas Family Policy Council Action has legal and professionl assistance and anticipates all future filings will be in full compliance The Kansas Family Policy Council Action hereby respectfully requests that any relevant penalties be waived
