What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Veterans assistance, community education, philanthropy
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 VFW Post 3617 provided free veteran and active military assistance with VA claims & services, emergency financial assistance, transportation to medical facilities, patriotism and character developement to primary and secondary school students, continuing education scholarships to high school seniors and Junior College students, honor guard details to veteran funeral services, flag color guard details to civic functions, and US flag donations to private individuals, public facilities and commercial businesses. Additionally, VFW Post 3617 is responsible for the construction of the first Veteran's Memorial in Douglas County, WA.
