Briefly describe the organization’s mission: The mission of the United Way of Fayette County is to unite our community in improving the condition of peoples lives. United Way and and each funded program believe that all people deserve to have full and complete acess to the services that will help them grow to their greatest potential.

SPECIAL EMERGENCY NEEDS American Red Cross Held 43 blood drives, producing 1325 units of blood with 260 first time donors. This is a 63 increase in the amount of blood donated. Relief for victims of residential fires and natural disaster - in 2011 24 families received over 13,000 in financial assistance. Emergency Homeless Shelter temporary housing and assistance for single women and families. In 2011, 50 families were served for a total of 226 individuals. Fayette Co. Victim Witness Program Court advocacy, 24-hour crisis response and other services for crime victims. clothing for sexual assault victims after they are examined and clothes are taken as evidence. In 2011, 52 victims, were assisted. Through the Community Awareness Campaigns 2,800 persons in Fayette County came in contact with awareness campaigns and presentations conducted by victim witness that adresses various areas of victimization including domestic violence, dating violence, and sexual violence. Form 990 Part III 4a Fayette Co. Society for the Disabled Served approximately 130 individuals, including 65 children in a summer speech clinic. Provides a variety of services ranging from assistance with adaptive equipment, obtaining prescribed medication, glasses, therapy services, etc. Heritage Memorial Church This is a newly funded program for UWFC in 2011 and 311 Christmas food baskets were distributed. This is an increase of 103 over last year. My Sisters House Provided shelter to 56 women and children who were victims of domestic violence and served an additional 276 clients. The Well at Sunnyside Provided hot meals to community members in need. Vistors to The Well may also get free clothing and other supplies.
Form 990 Part III 4b Fayette Co. Commission on Aging Transported seniors on 2,559 trips to doctors appointments, nutrition sites, grocery shopping, and much more. Some of those Seniors Citizens were transported to the center so they could receive help with their medicare, Low Income Subsidy, to receive help finding free medication and to hear our educational speakers or to take part in exercise programs and the congregate meal. Fayette Progressive Industries TransitionTeam Worked to transition 10 persons with disabilities into competitive employment in the community, which includes helping them get thier diploma for GED, necessary clothes and shoes for work, and a reliable means of transportation. PROMOTING GOOD HEALTH Acess to medial attention, prescription drugs and activities that promote physical and mental well-bing. CARE VanA rolling rimples program was conducted for 81 participants representing
Form 990 Part III 4b 11 different businesses. To improve overall health, a summer exercise program was offered in which 213 adults and 125 children participated. Free health screenings were provided to 265 people, helping to monitor their cholesterol, blood sugar and other measurements. Health Care Help Fund Programs offered assistance with 39 eye exams eyeglasses and 14 people received prescription assistance. Home Delivered Meals Meals for non-seniors with special dietary needs or for people who have recently had surgery and are recovering at home. In 2011 there were 1,105 meals provided. Fayette Co. Family YMCA In 2011, 823 individuals received scholarship assistance for YMCA memberships valued at over 67,000. Another 99 people received program scholarships for karate, swim classes, etc. Another 12,000 was spent to offer Day Camp to kids who could not otherwise afford it.
Form 990 Part III 4c At the elementary school level, 4th grade was presented the Our Region program in 4 classes- 103 students. Children Offered Resources Early CORE Assesment for at-risk children from birth to age five. There were 59 children from birth to age three with delays or being at risk for developing delays in 2011. Therapies are provided to help the children develop on target for their age 41 speech evaluation, 52 occupational therapy evaluations and 45 physicl therapy evaluations. Girl Scouts Youth-serving organizaton for girls 5-17. Helps cultivate values, social conscience, and self-esteem while teaching critical life skills that enable girls to succeed as adults. In 2011, the program served 172 Fayette county girls. CORE Car Seat Program Eighty eight car seat safety inspections were done to check for proper installation. Reduced price or free car seats were made available.

An additional 100 adults and children are served on Saturday mornings through The Planets Bread of Life food pantry. Fayette Asset Builders Promotes positive characteristics in youth by developing strategies to be used by parents, schools and the community. The organization also hosts free family activities during the year. Over 500 essays about family were submitted by children to the organizations annual essay contest.
