What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Sole primary purpose of the Association is the care and maintenance of the Cemetery and its assets. Grave spaces are sold, burial fees (open & close) and Setting fees for stones and monuments represent the sources of funding Trees require monitoring for disease and are removed when necessary. The Board of Trustees has adopted a tree replacement program to help keep the Cemetery beautiful. Mowing, weed control and tree trimming are the primary payroll costs again in an effort to keep the Cemetery looking its best for the friends and families of those buried there. The primary responsibility of the Board of Trustees is safeguarding the assets and proper use of the available funds to meet our purpose.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Association continued its mission of maintaining the grounds and equipment. Our Lot Sales and Burials were slightly higher than the previous year. We invested our Perpetual Care funds in a State approved Bond Fund and generated significantly higher interest earnings than prior years. We have an on-going problem with the tree population that has required removing trees due to age, damage and disease. We will pursue an agressive replacement program when most or all of the dying trees have been removed. We are in the process of developing and launching a website for fund raising and to allow visitors to easily locate graves. Due to a more mild winter and drought in the region, we did not have as much labor for snow removal and mowing. That also resulted in a reduction in the amount of fuel required for the equipment.
