ARAWAKA'S MAIN GOAL IS TO PROMOTE A BETTER RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN BEINGS AND OUR MOTHER EARTH. OUR PRAYER IS FOR THE FOLLOWING GENERATIONS: THAT THEY MAY INHERIT THE EARTH IN BETTER CONDITION THAN WE HAVE IT NOW. THE ONLY REAL PROBLEM WITH THE ECCOLOGY OF THE PLANET RESIDES IN THE HUMAN BEINGS; THEREFORE OUR EFFORTS ARE DIRECTED TOWARDS DEVELOPING WAYS OF SPIRITUAL EDUCATION. WE INTEND TO INCREASE OUR AWARENESS AND TO AWAKEN OUR HEARTS TO THE LEVEL AT WHICH WE BECOME CAPABLE OF RECOGNIZING THE EARTH AS OUR MOTHER AND ALL THAT LIVE ON THE EARTH AS OUR RELATIVES AND OUR PARTNERS IN LIFE. ONE WAY THAT WE HAVE DONE THIS IS THROUGH THE SWEAT LODGE CEREMONY AND THE SACRED PIPE CEREMONY. THIS YEAR WE HAD MORE OF THESE CEREMONIES THAN EVER BEFORE. WE HAVE INVITED AND HELD CEREMONY AND CELEBRATION WITH MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE AT FOUR TIMES DURING THE YEAR, WINTER AND SUMMER SOLSTICE AND SPRING AND FALL EQUINOX. WE ALSO HOSTED A WEEKLONG INTERCHANGE WITH THE COMMUNITY OF TAMERA FROM PORTUGAL TO SHARE BEST PRACTICES ABOUT COMMUNITY BUILDING. SEVERAL MEMBERS OF ARAWAKA ALSO WENT TO TAMERA TO SHARE WITH THEIR COMMUNITY THERE. ESTIMATED PARTICIPANTS 175

CHILDREN'S PROGRAM: OUR CHILDREN'S PROGRAM IS ONGOING THROUGH OUR EFFORTS DURING COMUNITY WORKDAYS AND DIFFERENT CEREMONIES, ESPECIALLY DURING THE TIME OF VISION QUEST. WE ALSO HAD A ONCE PER WEEK PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN CALLED "HEART OF THE EARTH" WHICH WAS A FULL DAY EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AND INCLUDED LUNCH AND SNACKS. IT WAS FACILITATED BY MEMBERS OF THE ARAWAKA COMMUNITY. ESTIMATED PARTICIPANTS: 25 EARTH PRAYER PROGRAM: THE EARTH PRAYER PROJECT REALLY BEGAN TO TAKE SHAPE THIS YEAR WITH MORE GATHERINGS AND MORE COMMUNITIES PARTICIPATING. THIS PROJECT INVOLVES HAVING PEOPLE COME TO ARAWAKA FOR TRAININGS AND ALSO GOING INTO COMMUNITIES AROUND THE WORLD TO FACILITATE THE HEALING OF THE EARTH. THE WORK OF THE SCHOOL OF EARTH HEALERS WAS STRONG IN ITS SECOND YEAR. WE TRAVELED THE UNITED STATES AS WELL AS OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD TO HELP PEOPLE HAVE A MORE RECIPROCAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE EARTH AND ALSO TO LEARN HOW TO NOURISH HER. WORKSHOPS WERE HELD IN CHILE, PERU, ISRAEL, SPAIN, PORTUGAL, CALIFORNIA AND ARGENTINA. ESTIMATED PARTICIPANTS 500.
