After the auditor's review, the board of trustees is notified that the Form 990 is posted on the Museum's internal website for one week so the board of trustees may review. The Museum's Board of Trustees Commitment Policy Statement states under Section 3, Code of Ethics: "Each trustee agrees to maintain conduct appropriate to those guidelines, principally avoiding conflicts of interest of self-gain through an action taken on the Museum's behalf."

Director/CEO: The level of compensation is determined by a committee consisting of selected board trustees and independent persons (i.e. the search firm's consultant). Salary data from like organizations in the region and nationally for comparability is consulted. No documentation of the deliberations is created due to confidentiality. Once decided, the salary is made known to the CFO via a formal letter from the board chair. Last director/CEO salary discussion was in 2008. Key Employees: The level of compensation is determined by the director/CEO, deputy director and CFO after reviewing comparable data from like organizations in the region. Last key employee (chief advancement officer) salary discussion was in 2011.
