Publication of Racially Nondiscriminatory Policy

The mission of the Cleveland Music School Settlement is to enrich the lives of people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities by offering access to high quality performing arts instruction, music therapy and early childhood education. The by-laws state that "The Music Settlement shall admit students of any race, color, religion and national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at The Music Settlement, and The Music Settlement shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion or ethnic or national origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs and other school-administered programs." Although these statements are not currently included on all publications nor publicized in the general media, The Settlement has been serving racially, ethnically and economically diverse populations for over 95 years and its practices follow the above statements.

The early childhood arts for the young program PROVIDEs CREATIVE AND INNOVATIVE CLASSES AND EXPERIENCES to over 800 students AT our UNIVERSITY CIRCLE CAMPUS, the cleveland metropolitan school district, CATHOLIC DIOCESE AND VARIOUS CHILDCARE CENTERS THROUGHOUT GREATER CLEVELAND. Our program supports learning with an interactive, process-oriented approach and, THROUGH DEVELOPMENTALLY APPROPRIATE ACTIVITIES, THE CHILDREN EXTEND THEIR CURIOSITY AND SEEK SOLUTIONS TO THEIR QUESTIONS. Board and senior staff members annually sign a document which states that they have read and are in compliance with the conflict of interest policy.
