FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT

THE CAMBODIAN ARTS AND SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION SUPPORTS APPROXIMATELY 130 POOR AND AT-RISK FEMALE STUDENTS IN SIX PROVINCIAL PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT CAMBODIA. RUN BY A CAMBODIAN WOMAN BASED IN PHNOM PENH, CASF PROVIDES FINANCIAL, EMOTIONAL, AND MEDICAL SUPPORT TO THESE STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES SO THAT THESE YOUNG WOMEN CAN ATTEND SCHOOL IN THEIR LOCAL VILLAGES. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO SUPPORT GIRLS AS THEY GRADUATE INTO UNIVERSITY AND NOW SUPPORT APPROXIMATELY 30 UNIVERSITY STUDENTS, AS WELL. CASF ALSO COUNSELS STUDENT FAMILIES AND ASSISTS WITH HELPING COLLEGE STUDENTS FIND JOBS AFTER GRADUATION. CASF ALSO SUPPORTS THE EDUCATION OF YOUNG WOMEN IN ETHNIC MINORITY COMMUNITIES OF EASTERN CAMBODIA.
SECOND ACCOMPLISHMENT

THE CAMBODIAN ARTS AND SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION RUNS TWO PROGRAMS IN THE UNITED STATES THAT BENEFIT THE CAMBODIAN POPULATION IN THE GREATER PORTLAND, MAINE REGION. THESE TWO PROGRAMS INCLUDE: (1) TRADITIONAL KHMER DANCE LESSONS FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 CAMBODIAN CHILDREN WHO WISH TO LEARN ABOUT THE MUSIC, DANCE AND CULTURE OF CAMBODIA AND (2) ONE 200 SCHOLARSHIP PER YEAR FOR A STUDENT OF CAMBODIAN DESCENT WHO GRADUATES FROM HIGH SCHOOL. THE SCHOLARSHIP IS RENEWABLE EACH YEAR FOR AS LONG AS THE STUDENT REMAINS ENROLLED IN SCHOOL.
