In September 2011, Cal Shakes entered into a "Solar Equipment Lease" with Cal Shakes Solar, a California Partnership consisting of CURRENT BOARD MEMBERS (INCLUDING DAVID GOLDSMITH, THEN BOARD PRESIDENT, AND JAMES ROETHE, A FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD). The transaction was structured in order to secure an energy grant resulting in $66,000 of savings which were passed on to Cal Shakes.

In connection with its capital campaign (see Note 15), Cal Shakes remitted payments of $63,850 and $4,680,954 during the years ended December 31, 2011 and 2010, respectively, on certain construction-related costs which were capitalized as a component of the Bruns Amphitheatre. During the year ended December 31, 2011, Cal Shakes removed $290,911 in fully depreciated costumes and equipment. There were no disposals during the year ended December 31, 2010.
