In addition, it has one integrated partner, Rainy Lake Medical Center, and works in cooperation with community hospitals across the region. Essentia Health East also includes the Duluth, Clinic, a nationally recognized 490+ physician multi-specialty group, representing 55 medical specialties and providing care at 19 locations. These hospitals and clinics employ approximately 5,920 full time equivalents. The hospitals have a total of 606 licensed beds which provided for over 112,000 hospital patient days and over 127,300 outpatient visits during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011. The clinics had over 970,100 encounters during the same time period. During the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, Essentia Health East's Supported Organizations provided total community benefits of over $76.8 million which included costs of providing charity care, costs in excess of Medicaid payments, Medicaid surcharge, MinnesotaCare tax, community services, subsidized health services, education, research, and cash and in-kind donations. | |

The Essentia Health Executive Compensation committee determines policy (establishes peer group, determines competitive ranking and establishes positioning of total compensation dependent upon performance) for all executives at the Vice President level or above.
