What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? To educate the general public on the proper care, treatment, training and grooming of dogs in Hawaii in addition to promoting ownership.
Describe the organization’s program service accomplishments for each of its three largest program services, as measured by expenses. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 The Hawaiian Kennel Club held five dog shows during the year (two in March and three in September, including one to help the Valley Isle Kennel Club of Maui) plus a puppy match. Approximately 350 dogs representing approximately 70 breeds participated in each of the shows. Junior Handling competition was also included to showcase children and young adults who have learned or are learning how to handle dogs. Responsible pet care, training and breeding is promoted at the events.
