PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Universal Health Connector (formerly Application Integration Platform (AIP) - The Universal Health Connector (UHC) is a complete and robust open source platform that allows health care organizations and other interested parties to deliver model-driven, enterprise-grade applications that are interoperable and people-centered. B. DATE INITIATED: Project initiated December 2008 and is on-going. First release of code was April 2009. C. WHO IS INVOLVED: Project led by NexJ Systems Inc. Being an open source project, UHC has a variety of contributors including NexJ Systems, Mohawk College and Seneca College. D. PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS: As an open source platform, anyone can access and use the UHC to build health care solutions. Project enhancements are coordinated by NexJ Systems, Inc. E. CHARGES/FEES: There are no fees associated with the use of the UHC. F.OUTCOME: 1) Workbench for application developers to model health care integrations and solutions. 2) Solution models for various health care applications. 3) Runtime environment for executing solution models. 4) Runtime adapters for a wide variety of technologies used in health care environments world-wide. G. % OF TIME/FUNDS ALLOCATED: There are no Open Health Tools funds allocated for this project. The development costs are the responsibility of NexJ Systems Inc, its development partners and any external contributors

	A: PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The OpenExchange platform provides standards based core infrastructure to exchange patient health information in a secure and timely manner, to advance the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare delivery. The platform is a critical element of HIE infrastructure that provides clinicians and other members of the healthcare community with the right information at the right time by making patient information available across organizational boundaries. It facilitates and streamlines the sharing of patient information throughout an HIE community. The core set of sub-projects under OpenExchange include OpenPIXPDQ, OpenXDS, OpenATNA and OpenDSUB. B.DATE INITIATED: February 2010 C. WHO IS INVOLVED: The project is led by the Misys Open Source Solutions (MOSS) in USA. They have active participation from many external organizations and companies including Cardiff University in UK, Sysnet International and a couple of individuals. The work is primarily done in US with developers in multiple countries. D.PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: Anyone can access and utilize the software. Only individuals elected by their peers can write to the software code base at the repository. E.CHARGES/FEES: There are no fees to access and use the software. The development costs are contributed by MOSS and external organizations. F. OUTCOMES: This project will produce the standard based tools to exchange health information. G. % OF TIME/FUNDS ALLOCATED: There are no Open Health Tools funds allocated for this project, the development costs are the responsibility of MOSS and Cardiff University and volunteers.

	Model Driven Health Tools (MDHT) A.PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Support the complete lifecycle of designing CDA implementation guides, publishing standards specification and developer docs, generation production quality Java libraries for use by application developers, and validationg CDA instances to the conformance rules. B. DATE INITIATED: The project was initiated April 2008 and is ongoing. C. WHO IS INVOLVED: The project is jointly led by IBM and the US Veterans Health Administration. D.PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: Anyone can access and utilize the software. Only individuals elected by their peers can write to the software code base at the repository. E. CHARGES/FEES: There are no fees to access and use the software. The development costs are contributed by IBM and Veterans Health Administration. F. OUTCOMES: Domain Models - Enable the creation and distribution of semantic models representing standardized healthcare data definitions. Behavioral Models - Enable the creation and distribution of behavioral models representing standardized healthcare message interactions, process flows, and service interfaces. Model Validation - Validate the semantic content of healthcare models. Code Generation - Enable transformation of the healthcare models to platform-specific representations used to generate implementation artifacts.
