What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? THE MISSION OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA ARTS ALLIANCE (SCAA) IS TO SERVE THE ARTS THROUGH ADVOCACY, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT. WE ARE GUIDED BY THE ORGANIZATION'S STRATEGIC PLAN AND ITS GOALS OF: INFORMING PUBLIC POLICY AFFECTING THE ARTS AND ARTS EDUCATION; ADVANCING FUNDING FOR THE ARTS AND ARTS EDUCATION; CREATING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ARTS AND ARTS EDUCATION; BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF OUR ORGANIZATION; AND SETTING THE STANDARD FOR ADVOCACY AND SERVICE AT THE STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL. THE SCAA WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION WITH MANY STATEWIDE PARTNERS INCLUDING THE SOUTH CAROLINA ARTS COMMISSION; THE ARTS IN BASIC CURRICULUM PROJECT (ABC), OUR SISTER ORGANIZATION THE SOUTH CAROLINA ALLIANCE FOR ARTS EDUCATION, THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, STATEWIDE ARTS DISCIPLINE ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL. WE ARE GUIDED BY THE ORGANIZATION'S STRATEGIC PLAN AND ITS GOALS OF: INFORMING PUBLIC POLICY AFFECTING THE ARTS AND ARTS EDUCATION; ADVANCING FUNDING FOR THE ARTS AND ARTS EDUCATION; CREATING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ARTS AND ARTS EDUCATION; BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF OUR ORGANIZATION; AND SETTING THE STANDARD FOR ADVOCACY AND SERVICE AT THE STATE AND NATIONAL LEVEL. THE SCAA WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION WITH MANY STATEWIDE PARTNERS INCLUDING THE SOUTH CAROLINA ARTS COMMISSION; THE ARTS IN BASIC CURRICULUM PROJECT (ABC), OUR SISTER ORGANIZATION THE SOUTH CAROLINA ALLIANCE FOR ARTS EDUCATION, THE SOUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION, STATEWIDE ARTS DISCIPLINE ORGANIZATIONS, LOCAL ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL. THE ARTS ALLIANCE HOSTS AN ANNUAL S.C. ARTS ADVOCACY DAY WITH A LEGISLATIVE APPRECIATION LUNCHEON AND ANNUAL LUNCHEON MEETING FEATURING NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED STUDENT PERFORMANCES AND STATEWIDE AND NATIONAL LEADERS. THE ARTS ALLIANCE ALSO PROVIDES WORKSHOPS FOR ARTS ORGANIZATIONS AND THE K-12 AND HIGHER EDUCATION COMMUNITY, AND COMMUNICATES REGULARLY WITH ITS CONSTITUENTS - NUMBERING IN THE THOUSANDS -- PROVIDING INFORMATION, OPPORTUNITIES FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT, REACHING THOUSANDS ETC. THE ORGANIZATION IS NOW IN ITS 33RD YEAR OF SERVICE TO THE ARTS IN SOUTH CAROLINA.
