In 2011 ICML increased its presence in conferences and trade shows overseas, advocating for lubrication practitioners directly with management and at times C executive level personnel. ASIA,LATIN AMERICA AND PARTS OF EUROPE WERE THE FOCUS OF 2011. ICML has also continued development at ISO 18436-5. ICML staff has continued to serve as convenor, project manager and working group volunteers. ICML concluded the analytical comparison of test method standards. ICML worked with the SC secretariat and Geneva for further compromise with ISO directives whilst still representing correctly the methodology currently accepted in industry worldwide. These latest directives/ISO policies are expected to delay the publishing of the standard till late 2012 however ICML is confident that its efforts to ensure correct representation of industry accepted methodology are worth the wait and trust the proposed changes will be accepted by ISO despite the necessity of this lengthier process of approval. ICML also continued to contribute to other upcoming Condition Monitoring standards under development.ICML administered 2277 exams globally and presented an award FOR THE FIRST TIME TO A Latin American company in recognition of their excellence in application of machinery lubrication and oil analysis programs for improved reliability. THIS EXPANDS the reach of industry mentors available via ICML and ITS benchmarking OF the lubrication and analysis industry on world class programs. ICML hopes this first Latin American awardee will mentor future award candidates in the pursuit of best practices in lubrication and the resulting increased reliability; thus furthering recognition of the critical role of lubrication technicians in overall lubricated assets' management.
