28 APSTA is a union of certified educational professionals dedicated to serving all children attending public schools in the City of Albany, New York. APSTA is an organization engaged in collective bargaining and contract administration and has been the exclusive bargaining agent for educators in the Albany public schools since 1968. APSTA also encourages and assists professional development activities of its members, and maintains a fair and professional relationship with the Albany school district with the goals of ensuring productive instructional conditions for teachers and the best learning opportunities for students. The Association has approximately 750 active members and 560 retirees.
