What is the organization's primary exempt purpose? Sole primary purpose of the Association is the care and maintenance of the Cemetery and its assets. Grave spaces are sold, burial fees (open & close) and Setting fees for stones and monuments represent the sources of funding Trees require monitoring for disease and are removed when necessary. The Board of Trustees has adopted a tree replacement program to help keep the Cemetery beautiful. Mowing, weed control and tree trimming are the primary payroll costs again in an effort to keep the Cemetery looking its best for the friends and families of those buried there. The primary responsibility of the Board of Trustees is safeguarding the assets and proper use of the available funds to meet our purpose.
Describe what was achieved in carrying out the organization's exempt purposes. In a clear and concise manner, describe the services provided, the number of persons benefited, and other relevant information for each program title.
28 We have identified a spreading Elm disease in the Cemetery's old tree population. Removal of 20+ trees next fiscal year will allow us to replace them in the coming two or three fiscal years with trees less suseptible to disease. We conducted a mass mail fund raising drive that was successful in generating sufficent funds to assist with paying for the tree removal project. We had an average number of deaths and burials that provided an average amount of funding for operations. We are in the process of working with a local agency to develop a babyland area specifically for children, babies or miscarried babies. We hope that the project will be complete before the fiscal year ending July 31, 2013. We were not able to advance our paving project due to a lack of funds and the need to address the aging and diseased tree population on the grounds. We hope to garner contributions and donations to aid in getting more of the decaying roads repaired and replaced.
