FEDERAL DOE I-3 ARTS ACHIEVE GRANT STUDIO IS THE LEAD PARTNER OF A MULTI-AGENCY, MULTI-ARTS GRANT TO CREATE PROGRAMMING TO HELP CLOSE THE ARTS ACHIEVEMENT GAP AND IMPROVE OUTCOMES FOR HIGH-NEED STUDENTS. THE GRANT BEGAN IN OCTOBER OF 2010. SPECIFICALLY, THE GRANT AIMS TO: 1) IMPROVE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT IN THE ARTS--VISUAL ARTS, MUSIC, THEATER, AND DANCE--BY IMPLEMENTING BALANCED ARTS ASSESSMENTS AT THE 5TH GRADE, 8TH GRADE AND HIGH SCHOOL LEVELS, THAT ARE ALIGNED TO ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT STANDARDS FOR HIGH-NEED STUDENTS; 2) TRANSLATE ASSESSMENT RESULTS INTO CLASSROOM PRACTICES THAT SUPPORT IMPROVED ARTS ACHIEVEMENT FOR ALL STUDENTS; 3) PROMOTE INNOVATIONS IN STUDENT/TEACHER ACCESS TO CONTENT AND ASSESSMENT FEEDBACK THROUGH THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY.
