THE BREWCITY BRUISERS IS AN ATHLETIC ORGANIZATION OF WOMEN AND VOLUNTEERS THAT FOSTERS STRONG WOMEN AND ACTIVE ENGAGEMENT WITH THEIR COMMUNITY. OUR MISSION IS TO DELIVER A QUALITY WOMEN'S SPORT TO MILWAUKEE AND THE GREATER DERBY COMMUNITY. THE BREWCITY BRUISERS OFFER OPPORTUNITIES FOR POSITIVE CHANGE IN WOMEN'S PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND MENTAL HEALTH. THE BREWCITY BRUISERS PHYSICALLY AND FINANCIALLY SUPPORT THE GREATER MILWAUKEE COMMUNITY.
FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT DESCRIPTION

THE ORGANIZATION SPENDS THE MAJORITY OF ITS INCOME ON LEAGUE OPERATIONAL COSTS INCLUDING BOUT PRODUCTION (5 HOME SEASON BOUTS, 2 INTERLEAGUE BOUTS AND THE 2 DAY MIDWEST BREWHAHA TOURNAMENT), PRACTICE SPACE (3-6 DAYS PER WEEK), TRAVEL TEAM EXPENSES (NATIONAL TRAVEL STIPENDS TO COMPETE WITH OTHER TEAMS) AND ALL OF THE OTHER EXPENSES DETAILED IN THIS FORM 990. MUCH OF THE ORGANIZATION'S INCOME COMES DIRECTLY FROM MEMBER DUES. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO DONATE A PORTION OF ALL EVENT PROCEEDS TO CHARITIES, IN ADDITION TO CONSISTENT COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERING. IN 2011 THE ORGANIZATION PARTICIPATED IN SEVERAL CHARITY WALKS AND HOSTED A SKATING SESSION FOR THE MOTHERS AND THEIR CHILDREN FROM META HOUSE. THE 3RD ANNUAL BCB COMMUNITY PICNIC IN WASHINGTON PARK BROUGHT TOGETHER MORE THAN 300 MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY WITH FREE ACTIVITIES SUCH AS THE MPS SKATE VAN, CANOEING, BIKE SAFETY CHECKS, FACE PAINTING, PICNIC AND CONCERT. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED ITS MICRO FARM IN A COMMUNITY GARDEN, FROM WHICH THEY DONATED ALL PRODUCE TO A LOCAL FOOD PANTRY. AS THE BREWCITY BRUISERS CONTINUE TO GROW AS AN ORGANIZATION, THE ORGANIZATION ANTICIPATES THAT PROGRAM REVENUES WILL INCREASE AND EXCESS FUNDS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR CHARITABLE GRANTS. THE ORGANIZATION FURTHER ANTICIPATES THAT GROWTH WILL IN TURN LEAD TO INCREASED COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT AND AN INCREASED FOCUS ON BUILDING THE ATHLETICISM OF ALL OF ITS SKATERS.
