INTENDED USES OF ENDOWMENT FUNDS
SCHEDULE D, PART V, #4
The Foundation's endowments consists of funds established for perpetuity as donor-restricted endowment funds and set aside by the trustees. Net assets associated with the endowment fund are classified and reported based on the existence of donor-imposed restrictions. The Foundation's Board intends to comply with the State of Ohio's Uniform Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act (UPMIFA). The Foundation has adopted investment and spending policies for endowment assets that attempt to provide a stream of funding to programs supported by its endowment while seeking to maintain the purchasing power of the endowment assets. Endowment assets include those assets of donor-restricted funds that the Foundation must hold in perpetuity. Under this policy, as approved by the Foundation's Board, the endowment assets are invested in a manner that is intended to pursue results that may exceed the price and yield results of various market indices based on type of investments while assuming some investment risk. Actual returns cannot be predicted. To satisfy its long-term rate-of-return objectives, the Foundation relies on a total return strategy in which investment returns are sought through both capital appreciation (realized and unrealized) and current yield (interest and dividends). In establishing this policy, the Foundation considered the long-term expected return on its endowment.
MONITOR AND ENFORCE CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY
PAGE 6, PART VI, #12C
ALL TRUSTEES AND CERTAIN EMPLOYEES ARE REQUIRED TO ANNUALLY COMPLETE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST DECLARATION. THE DECLARATION IS COLLECTED AND KEPT ON FILE.
