Proceeds from the event benefit the general fund of the AIAF to support quality of life endeavors through educational, health, and spiritual endeavors.
    09 Pink in the Park This is the inaugural year for the Pink in the Park event which is an initiative to increase Breast Cancer awareness through fundraising, sponsorship promotional giveaways, and distribution of information. The funds raised for Pink in the Park will go to benefit the Methodist Hospital Cancer Center and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
    09 Race for the Pennant - 5K fun run/walk The Annual Astros Race for the Pennant 5K Run/Walk is held each year in May. Funds are generated through individual participants as well as corporate sponsorships. Proceeds from the event benefit the general fund of the AIAF to support quality of life endeavors through educational, health, and spiritual endeavors.
    09 Coca-Cola Corner The Coca-Cola Stage is a special private seating area at Minute Maid Park. This area is sold to groups on Monday Thursday home games with the ticket proceeds benefiting the general fund of the AIAF to help support quality of life endeavors through educational, health, and spiritual endeavors.
    09 Grand Slam for Youth GSFYB, a partnership between Minute Maid and the Houston Astros, is a community outreach program designed to make it easier for boys and girls to play, learn about and experience baseball. The program, which seeks to foster self-confidence, involvement, teamwork and fun among area children, is composed of four key components: Sponsorship of the Houston Parks and Recreation Departments Youth Baseball Program; Refurbishment of one youth ball field every year; a scholarship program; and a fundraising opportunity for youth baseball/softball teams and leagues. Through AIAF, the GSFYB Fundraising Concession stand is a unique opportunity created for volunteers (18 yrs or older) to work during Astros home games serving family friendly Coca-Cola and Minute Maid products. Each group makes 15% of the net proceeds made during a series of games. (Usually 2 -3 games) These funds are used to support the efforts of the qualified youth baseball and softball groups in the Houston ar
    09 The 2010 Astros FanFest will be held in conjunction with the exhibition game against Boston. Fundraising events like Astros player autograph and photograph sessions, a garage sale of leftover promotional items, and a silent auction of sports memorabilia are held during the festival.
