I was the first new treasurer in 5 years and was unaware of the special date filing guidelines, requiring me to file before the typical April 15th deadline for regular taxes. I have since learned they are due no later than the 15th day after the 5th month of our fiscal year (March 15th). I apologize for the late filing and strongly request a possible reduction or waiver of penalty to our funds may be used towards member services. I will be certain to train the next treasurer who takes my place in the future and ensure this late filing does not happen again.
