NURSING SCHOLARSHIPS-VARIOUS EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS FOR COVENANT NURSING SCHOOL STUDENTS AND CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL COURSES FOR WORKING NURSES. EACH YEAR MANY STUDENTS IN THE COVENANT SCHOOL OF NURSING ARE GRANTED SCHOLARSHIPS. EQUIPMENT FUND - COVENANT HEALTH SYSTEM FOUNDATION WORKS TIRELESSLY TO RAISE FUNDS IN ORDER THAT PHYSICIANS, NURSES AND OTHER STAFF MEMBERS HAVE THE BEST EQUIPMENT AVAILABLE FOR THE NEEDS OF OUR PATIENTS. FUNDS RAISED SUPPLEMENT THE CAPITAL EQUIPMENT BUDGET OF THE HOSPITAL AND ALLOW FOR MORE EQUIPMENT TO BE PURCHASED IN ANY GIVEN YEAR. EXAMPLES OF EQUIPMENT PURCHASED THROUGH THE FOUNDATION DURING FY 11 INCLUDE: NEW GIRAFFE BEDS FOR NEONATAL INTENSIVE CARE UNIT; VARIOUS EQUIPMENT FOR REHABILITATION; AND PARTIAL FUNDING FOR THE CARE CHANNEL, WHICH HELPS TO PROVIDE HOLISTIC CARE FOR ALL PATIENTS.

THEY FOLLOW A BOARD-APPROVED CHARTER AND OVERALL EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY. THE CHARTER EMPOWERS THE SJHS BOARD WORKLIFE COMMITTEE TO ADMINISTER THE EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PROGRAM AND PROCESS ON BEHALF OF THE FULL BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SJHS. OVERALL, THE PHILOSOPHY IS INTENDED TO REWARD A BROAD SPECTRUM OF HIGH ORGANIZATIONAL AND INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS, AS WELL AS THE RETENTION OF KEY MANAGEMENT TALENT. THE SJHS EXECUTIVE COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHY DEFINES THE MARKET FOR ADMINISTERING COMPENSATION AS A COMPARABLE SET OF NOT-FOR-PROFIT HEALTH CARE DELIVERY SYSTEMS. SJHS PROVIDES COMPENSATION TO ITS SENIOR EXECUTIVES IN THE FORM OF BASE SALARY, AN ANNUAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM, AND BENEFITS.
