	The Portland Chapter, Inc. The American Institute of Architects (hereafter referred to as "AIA Portland") founded in 1911, provides member services to over 1000 members in Portland and the surrounding areas. These services include programs related to the design industry, professional development seminars, continuing education, referral services, job and resume listing binders, generous document discounts, public outreach which promotes architecture and the use of architects, networking committees and legislative representation for issues that impact the profession. The mission of AIA Portland is to create and maintain an enduring environment for the work of architects in the culture and commerce of the community. To advance this mission, AIA Portland is committed to communicating the message of architecture to those who benefit from the work of architects, advocacy for architects to positions of social, economic, and political influence, celebration of the architectural field and development of the architect role both new and traditional.
