THIS ORGANIZATION REPRESENTS THE INTERESTS OF OVER 81 PROVIDER AGENCIES WHO DELIVER HUMAN SERVICES TO CHILDREN, FAMILIES AND ADULTS THROUGHOUT THE STATE. OUR MEMBER AGENCIES DELIVER A VARIETY OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICES INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, CHILD WELFARE, PREVENTION, EARLY INTERVENTION AND JUSTICE SERVICES. OUR MEMBERS ARE LOCATED THROUGHOUT ARIZONA AND DELIVER SERVICES TO THE STATES MOST "AT RISK" CHILDREN, ADULTS AND FAMILIES. 2010-2011 ACCOMPLISHMENTS-BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM REFORM- THE COUNCIL WORKED WITH THE MARICOPA CONSUMERS, ADVOCATES AND PROVIDERS AND THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH COALITION OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA ON A MAJOR PROJECT REGARDING THE POSSIBLE REFORMS OF THE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SYSTEM. WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF PETER BURNS AND ASSOCIATES, A PLAN WAS DEVELOPED THAT WOULD BRING ABOUT SOME CHANGES IN THE SYSTEM AND OTHER RESOURCES FOR THE SERIOUSLY MENTALLY ILL POPULATION AND PREPARE FOR TRANSITIONING TO NATIONAL HEALTH REFORM IN 2014. INITIATIVES RECOMMENDED BY THE PLAN AND CURRENTLY BEING DEVELOPED INCLUDE: CHRONIC HEALTH CARE HOMES FOR SMI POPULATION, 1915(I) BEHAVIORAL HEALTH BENEFIT PACKAGE FOR NON XIX SMI POPULATION AND OBHL LICENSURE REFORM. LEGISLATIVE VICTORIES-EXPEDITED RULE MAKING FOR DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH SERVICES TO SUPPORT RULES REVISION PROJECT. USE OF TELEMEDICINE IN COURT ORDERED TREATMENT EXAMINATIONS. CHANGES IN POLICY AND REGULATORY ENVIRONMENT-DHS WILL REVISE RULES FOR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH LICENSURE TO FOCUS ON HEALTH AND SAFETY.
